TressesbyK is an Afro hair styling salon proudly serving Kettering and the wider Northamptonshire community. Founded in 2023, we’ve quickly become a trusted home for over 50 regular clients who know the value of expert care for locs and natural textured hair.
We do more than style hair — we care for it. From starter locs to maintenance, repair, and natural hair care, we provide solutions to the common struggles many face when finding the right loctician or hair stylist. Every visit comes with guidance, open conversations, and answers to your hair questions, so you leave not only looking good but feeling confident about caring for your hair too.

Hey👋 Meet Kika- the heart behind TressesbyK
She is an expert loctician, and nurturer at heart who moved from Nigeria to the UK and quickly noticed how few locticians truly understood Afro-textured hair, prompting her to start a personal journey of tending to both hers and partner’s locs.
And what started as a mitigation for the numerous disappointing salon experience soon grew into a passion and a trusted brand across Northamptonshire and beyond.
With her background in health, Kika brings a gentle, attentive touch to every appointment. In her chair, clients don’t just get premium loc maintenance and styling. They find comfort, care, and a safe space where their crown is always celebrated.

A consultation gives us the opportunity to first know each other, and it allows me to assess your locs needs. I will also be assessing the state of your hair and understanding your hair journey and current hair needs.

Standard retie schedule if often between 5 to 8 weeks. This depends on what locs you have and how well you care for them after your appointment. Read more about this HERE

A Booking fee acts like a place holder for you until you attend your appointment. Any booking with no deposit is treated as non commitment and such slots will be considered free for other clients to book.
* Your deposit often goes towards your service balance. -
We update our slots on a monthly basis, so it’s advisable that you keep checking.
